Your stay at Tamara Private Hospital
Tamara Private Hospital provides a variety of services for the comfort and convenience of patients and their visitors.
When you are admitted please ask our staff if mobiles can be used in your room. Mobiles may be used in all public areas including the coffee shop. Tamara Private Hospital does not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to your mobile phone.
You can make and receive telephone calls from your bed. Local calls are free of charge. If you wish to make STD calls or calls to mobiles, a Telstra phone card is available from reception.
Also public telephones are located at both entrances.
A single handset by your bed allows you to select any of the local television stations. The Austar movie channel is also available.
Nurse call system
Should you require anything at anytime, please do not hesitate to call the nursing staff via the nurse call button located in the bedside handset. Our staff will endeavour to answer the call as quickly as possible.
Complimentary copies of newspapers are available in lounge areas, and copies of the local newspaper can be purchased daily.
Please consult the nursing staff in your Ward, who will be able to make an appointment for your hairdresser to visit you.
Personal laundry can be organised for you by a local laundry service.
Unnecessary noise can be disturbing. We will appreciate the co-operation of patients and visitors in keeping noise to a minimum.
Ministers of religion
Your spiritual needs may be catered for by pastoral care visitors who attend the Hospital on a regular basis. Your own clergy person is very welcome – please ask the nursing staff to arrange a visit.
Ramsay Professional Services (RPS), a company affiliated with the Ramsay Health Care group, provides physiotherapy to Tamara’s inpatients. Further information is available from the Pre-Admission Office, RPS and at the Orthopaedic Clinic.
Queries about your care
If you have any concerns or queries about your care whilst you are a patient in our Hospital please bring them to our attention. The nurse in charge of your Ward will be able to answer questions and resolve problems related to your hospital care.
