Dr David Healey comes to Tamara Private Hospital from Canada,
where he was born, raised and received his medical qualifications.
Dr Healey graduated from the Memorial University of Newfoundland
School of Medicine in 1995 before completing his orthopaedic
training at the University of Ottawa where he successfully completed
his Fellowship exams in June 2000. In 2001 Dr Healey completed
a Fellowship in adult reconstruction and musculoskeletal oncology,
complex primary and revision hip and knee surgery.
Dr Healey has worked in private practice since 2001 working as
an orthopaedic surgeon in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He held the
position of Medical Director of Surgery, Health Sciences North
Hospital from 2003 – 2005 and the Chief of Orthopaedics, HSN,
Sudbury, Ontario from 2014-2015. Dr Healey received his FRACS from
from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016. Dr Healey
won the Collaborative Leader Award at the 2018 Hunter New England
Local Health District Excellence Awards.
Dr Healey enjoys general orthopaedics and has a special interest
in primary and revision hip and knee surgery. He has relocated to
Tamworth with Kim, his wife of 20 years, and his two daughters.
