Dr da Assunção trained in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in England and Australia. He has been awarded Fellowships of both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has logged over 7000 orthopaedic and surgical procedures and has experience in reconstruction and replacement of the hip and knee as well as trauma surgery throughout the skeleton.
After being awarded FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2008, he undertook Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowships at major trauma centres in Perth and Seattle, USA. He also undertook prestigious hip and knee Fellowships in Sydney and Oxford, UK, where he was trained in complex hip, knee, reconstruction and revision surgery.
He was subsequently awarded FRACS (Orth) and established Revolution Orthopaedics, a practice intended to provide a modern, holistic, tailored surgical service to patients with musculoskeletal problems or trauma. He has an interest in joint replacement and knee preservation surgery and is a firm believer that shared decision making and evidence-based surgery lead to good results and happy patients.
