Dr Max Leibenson was born in Russia. He graduated from the Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel, in 2004, and completed his  Orthopaedic Training in 2010 in a major trauma referral center. Dr Leibenson came to Australia with his wife and their three children in 2011. He was a Fellow in Lower Extremity Arthroplasty in Sydney in 2011. He has successfully obtained full fellowship of the Australian College of Surgeon (FRACS) and became a member of Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) in 2014. 
Dr Leibenson has an interest in hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasties (replacements), as well as a variety of other upper and lower extremity elective and trauma related procedures. Dr Leibenson is an ardent advocate of Enhanced Recovery after surgeries.
He endeavors to mobilize most of the patients undergoing hip and knee replacements within hours of surgery. Patients are seen through his friendly and accommodating private consulting rooms situated at 25 Bligh Street. If surgery is required, patients
either can choose to proceed as a private or self-funded through Tamara Hospital. Dr Max Leibenson has admitting rights at Tamara private Hospital.
